So I am quite into running.......

I began to realise how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed, embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it
— Roald Dahl

I started running 7 years ago, by accident, when my doctor recommended it to help manage my depression. It got a little out of hand, and now it is my 'thing'. When I am passionate about something, everything else goes out the window.

Running can change your life in limitless ways, and make you a hundred times the person you want to be. I use it not only to battle my mental health problems, but also as a tool to make me more confident and more creative in my day to day life. The key to running is one step at a time. That's also the key to life.

I believe running should be inclusive, social and actually fun. It should be used as a way to discover the world, create community, keep fit (if you’re into that sort of thing) and discover infinite potential within yourself. I’m no athlete, but I’ve won a few races (mostly accidentally), I’ve run almost 70 marathons and ultras and I have learnt more about myself on this journey than I can go into on here!

I’ve run all over the world, from frozen lakes in Mongolia to dirt tracks in Sierra Leone. In November this year I will attempt to run 300km across the Namib Desert, and then across the Panamanian jungle, from coast to coast. Just because someone asked me to. And it will be epic. You can also find me snuffling about at trail marathons in the UK most weekends.

I’ve been described as an “ordinary person doing extraordinary things” and I’m probably at my best talking to people about my journey and their potential. I love doing a talk, so if you would like to book me to come and speak to your club or organisation, get in touch here! I cover everything from running and mental health to female empowerment, training and the best cheese sandwiches.
